Creating is part of the process for any artist. It's not-so-equal parts hard work, inspiration, skill, and more. Creating handmade paper, PRESSED paper + print style, is one part of what makes us unique.
Our founder, Sharon Kopko, holds Fred Rogers in high esteem. And when you get to know Sharon, which many did this week, it’s easy to see why. They share a gentle sense of humor, a true love for people, and a willingness - and desire to help. And it was this desire to help - to help moms and kids in particular - that sparked an idea in Sharon’s mind. An idea that started as a project that would lead moms and kids through an at-home activity making paper and turned into so much more.
We spent an entire day taking note of what we worked on, and when, to show you a little bit of what goes on behind-the-scenes in paper-making. Check out a day in the life in PRESSED studio!
However, I’m realizing this space has a much greater meaning for us and the PRESSED community. Just as with our own family, we want to provide our community with everything they need to grow, nourish, and share in a safe environment full of love (and lots of hugs!).
Textiles seemed like a natural extension of PRESSED, considering one of the best features of our paper is it’s beautiful, soft texture. The fabrics we’ve chosen are all cotton or cotton/linen blends, each falling within the PRESSED color philosophy-- so neutral, natural and foundational shades!
