How it works...
The first step in our printing process is to collect information about your project and needs. Please let us know what service you are interested in and we'll send our follow up questions your way. After we discuss your project, we will work with your files to either print or have a letterpress or foil plate made. Once the files and plates are finalized, we head to print!
We digitally print with our Epson Artisan 1430 top loading printer, letterpress on our 107 year young, Chandler and Price press, Millie and hot foil press on Heloise, a Kensol 50. Our purpose is to serve our creative community with love and generosity. Supporting you by offering services to make your designs shine.
We take great pride in our attention to detail so lets start the conversation with the basic information below.
Letterpress is a historic, highly sought-after printing method that leaves the most beautiful 3-D impression on your stationery pieces. Each sheet is hand fed through our antique Chandler & Price printing press with attention to detail and lots of love. No two pieces are entirely identical. Very slight variations in inking, color, impression and position are to be expected and are part of what makes letterpress stationery so beautiful and personal.
Each project is unique and will be quoted individually but below are some pricing guidelines to give you an idea. Pricing includes everything (plate, ink and labor) except for shipping of the plate, and shipping of your completed products. You may choose to purchase our handmade papers or send us your own choice of paper that is appropriate for letterpress. We require at least a 10% paper overage to account for inking and alignment mishaps for each design. These prices are based on one color letterpress with a minimum of 50 runs through the press, if a smaller amount is ordered, the plate fee will be added to your invoice in addition to the pricing listed for each run.
We also have included our pricing for flat/digital printing that we do in-house as well. Double sided flat/digital printing requires duplexing which will be invoiced on your quote. We recommend purchasing our heavy weight handmade paper for letterpress to give you the best impression results.
